  • Congratulations to Daniel Stanford, 8th grade Social Studies teacher and Katie Carelock, 6th grade Math teacher for receiving their National Board Certification.

  • Jacob Thomas, 7th grader, entered the Wildlife  in North Carolina Photo Competition.  His photo of a green tree frog was one of the photos chosen to be published in the Jan/Feb edition of Wildlife in North Carolina Magazine .  He received an honorable mention in the 12 and under category!  Congratulations Jacob!

  • Congratulations to Evan Shuxho who was recently selected as the Dale Jarrett Automotive Group’s student of the month.

After completing a study on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, 8th grade students participated in a Victorian Holiday Party. The party had a Victorian theme including Victorian-style parlor games, foods, and caroling.

Students at Parkwood Middle Give Back to their Community!

Miss Swiger’s 7th grade homeroom embraced the holiday spirit this winter through their school’s Angel Tree. Anonymous names of Parkwood students are placed on the tree every year to help families at this magical time of year. This is the second year that a homeroom of Miss Swiger’s has chosen to participate in this gracious cause.
